Breaks: rules, breakers and crew leads
Break rules say how long each break is, when it is due and whether it is paid. A job site, a client or a single shift can have its own. On the day, workers take breaks on a timer, and a supervisor can choose who relieves the crew.
Step 1: Set the company’s break rules
Open Menu → Rules → Breaks. It opens locked: tap Edit to change it.
- For each break type: its length, after how many hours it is due, and whether it is paid. A good start: a 30-minute unpaid meal break.
- Who starts a break, whether unpaid breaks that weren’t recorded are taken off, and pay for a missed break.
- Flags and reminders: flag a break that was due but not taken, and remind the worker when it is due.
Save changes lists what changed before it saves; Cancel throws the changes away. Ur Timesheet doesn’t know the law where you work: check the rules against your own agreements.

Step 2: Run breaks on the day
On a shift, Breaks shows who is working, who asked, who is on break and who has had theirs.
- Tap a person to make them a breaker (they start and end the crew’s breaks) or the shift’s lead (they sign the crew in and out).

Step 3: Workers take their break
- The worker taps Start on their break and a full-screen timer runs until they are back. I’m back ends it.

You’re done when…
- Your break types are set, with their length, when they are due and whether they are paid.
- You know which sites, clients or shifts need their own rules.
Good to know
- A shift uses the most specific rules, as a whole: its own, then its job site’s, then its client’s, then the company’s.
- Unpaid breaks come off paid hours, on the timesheet and every export.
