Auto-fill: let the app pick who works each open spot
Auto-fill picks someone for each open spot and shows you the list first. Nothing is sent until you say so, and you can change any pick. It is free, and needs the right to assign shifts.
Step 1: Start auto-fill
- On a shift, tap Auto-fill open spots (it shows whenever a spot is open). Or choose Auto-fill on the last step of Add shift.

Step 2: Check the picks
- The top says how many spots are filled, and whether anyone would go into overtime.
- Each pick shows their hours that week and how often they have worked that site. Tap Change to pick someone else.
- Tap Send offers. Each person gets one offer, however many shifts.

Step 3: Change a pick
- Everyone who can take the spot, best match first, with their hours that week. Or Leave this spot open.
- Under Cannot take it: everyone else, and why, for example already on this shift or a certificate waiting for review.

Good to know
- Who it considers: people whose role is the spot’s name; when nobody has that role, the whole crew, never managers or the owner.
- It never picks someone on time off or unavailable, booked elsewhere at that time, blocked from the site, missing something the spot requires, already on the shift, or who declined it. Every pick passes your rules and hours caps.
- The order: people who stay under your overtime lines first, then anyone who asked for the shift, then the fewest hours that week (so work is shared), then who knows the site best. Overtime is a last resort, and marked.
- It covers one job site and up to 14 days at a time. When someone declines, tap Auto-fill open spots again for the next best person.
