Fill open shifts: auto-fill, offers and emergency cover
A spot with nobody on it is an open shift. Let auto-fill pick someone, add a person yourself, post it as an emergency with extra pay, or let your crew ask for it.
Step 1: Find the open spots
Open the shift from its job site. Spots with nobody on them say Open, at the top of each position.
- Tap Auto-fill open spots to let the app pick for every open spot, then check the picks and send the offers.
- Or tap an open spot and choose Quick add to put someone on it yourself. The list shows who is available, and why the others aren’t.

Step 2: Post an emergency
When the shift is close and you need someone now, tap the open spot, then Emergency cover.
- Choose the pay: regular pay, or an extra amount an hour.
- Choose who hears about it: everyone available, or a group you pick.
- Tap Post emergency shift. The first person to accept gets the spot, and the extra pay is paid on that shift.

Step 3: Let your crew ask for it
Every open spot is also an open shift your crew can see. A worker opens Schedule, then Book, picks a job site and a shift, and taps Request on a spot.
- Workers see how many open shifts each job site has, and request the one they want. It shows as Pending on their schedule until you decide.
Their request appears on the position. Approving it puts them on the shift. Who may ask for open shifts is set under Menu → Rules → Open shift eligibility.

Good to know
- An offer is not a booking: the person gets a notification and accepts or declines it. Until then the spot shows as pending.
- When someone declines, open the shift and tap Auto-fill open spots again to offer it to the next best person.
- If Offer response time is on under Menu → Rules, an offer nobody answers lapses and the spot opens again.
