Weather on a shift

For everyone1 min readUpdated

Open a shift: the top says "Today's shift" (or "Tomorrow's shift", or the date) over its name, and the top right corner shows the weather at the job site during the shift's hours as a small moving icon with the temperature. Tap it for a short heads-up, for example "Hey, it's raining today.

Don't forget your umbrella and rain coat." The first time you open a shift each day, a light see-through animation of the rain, snow, sun, clouds or heat plays over the top of the screen for a few seconds and fades. Opening the same shift again that day stays calm; it plays again only if the weather changes, or whenever you tap the weather.

Workers see the same on their shift, and a small icon on the "Your shift today" card on their home screen. Their Schedule shows the weather on each shift of the next 7 days, and their Home warns of heat, cold or storms at the site today or tomorrow (see Lively touches).

At an indoor job site the tip is about getting there instead of working in it (from the job site's Indoors / Outdoors setting). It shows for shifts from today up to 7 days ahead, in °F for a US company and °C otherwise. Nothing shows when the job site has no map location (give it an address) or when the shift is over.

Phones set to reduce motion get a still icon and no animation.

Where to find it

  1. Open a shift: the weather is in the top right corner. Tap it for a heads-up.
