How paid hours are worked out

For everyone1 min readUpdated

Paid hours are worked out when a shift is signed out (by a supervisor, the worker's own clock or auto clock-out) and again after any correction: the time worked, minus unpaid breaks, with the daily minimum applied unless the supervisor chose "pay actual hours" or "no pay", plus any missed-break premium hours. Pay bumps and emergency premiums add dollars per hour on that shift.

A cancelled shift pays only the hours you gave when cancelling. A shift past midnight belongs to the day it started. Every screen uses that one number: the timesheet, the downloads, the worker's Pay tab, Insights → Payroll.

The client's shared timesheet shows hours worked instead: the time between sign-in and sign-out less unpaid breaks, without the daily minimum or premiums, never pay.
