Notifications, calendar sync and widgets
Turn on notifications so you hear about offers and changes straight away, put your shifts in your phone’s calendar, and add a widget for your next shift.
Step 1: Turn on notifications
Open App settings.
- Push notifications is the master switch for alerts on this device; Email notifications sends them by email too.
On your own side, Menu → Notification settings chooses what you are alerted about, and can mute one company.

Step 2: Calendar sync
- Turn on Calendar sync and pick your calendar: Samsung Calendar or this phone’s calendar on Android, Apple Calendar on an iPhone or Mac, Google Calendar, or Outlook or another calendar.
It shows the shifts you have accepted, from 30 days back to everything ahead. Pay is never in it. Managers also pick Shifts I work or Shifts I manage; in Shifts I manage, people show by first name and last initial (Emma R.), because the shifts sit in your Google, Apple or Outlook account.

You’re done when…
- Push notifications are on, and your shifts show in your calendar.
Good to know
- Send me tips and offers, under Notifications in App settings, is off unless you turn it on. Each of those emails has an Unsubscribe link and Email preferences. Turning it off never stops the emails about your shifts, pay, timesheets and account.
- The button in one of our emails opens the right screen once you are signed in, in the app or on the website.
- You are told in the app, by push and by email when a company you work for closes, and when Ur Timesheet support looks at your account.
- Widgets: hold an empty spot on your phone’s home screen and add Ur Timesheet. Next shift (for workers) and Today (for managers) come in three sizes. Widgets never show pay.
- The live shift on your lock screen (on newer iPhones, the Dynamic Island too; on Android, a notification that stays): from an hour before your shift, Next shift with the job site and its times, counting down to the start. Once you clock in, On shift with the time since, then Past halfway and Last hour, with Start break and Clock out. It ends when you clock out.
- Anyone holding your phone can read the lock screen, so it only ever shows the job site, the times and the time left: never pay, notes, your role, the company or names. It stays off when Live Activities or notifications are off for the app. Managers get one from 30 minutes before a shift starts: how many are in, and who’s missing.
