Rides: who picks up whom for a shift

A shift can have cars: a driver from the people on the shift, and who rides with them. Whoever can assign people to the shift arranges it: open the shift, choose Rides, then Add a car. Pick the driver, tick the riders, and set the driver pay: Flat (an amount for the day, like $20), Per hour (an amount more for each hour worked, like $1), or None.

Saving tells all of them: the driver gets the list of riders, each rider gets the driver's name. Add as many cars as needed; a person is in one car per shift, and the page lists who still has no ride.

On their own shift a rider sees "Your ride" with the driver's name, a call button and a message button; the driver sees "You are driving" with the same buttons for each rider and Message all.

The driver sets where and when to meet, once, for the whole car: Set where to meet opens an address finder (type a place, a store or an address and pick it from the list, or keep what was typed), a time picker with buttons to move it 15 or 5 minutes, and a note like the colour of the car.

Every rider is told and sees it on the shift with a small map of the spot when a place was picked from the list, and Open in Maps. The app does not follow the car and has no live map. People in the same car see each other's phone number; nobody sees a home address.

If the driver is no longer on the shift (declined, swapped, removed, called off), the car is removed and the riders and the schedulers are told who needs a ride; whoever takes the driver's spot does not inherit the car. If a rider is no longer on the shift, the driver is told. A cancelled shift takes its cars with it.

Driver pay is saved on the driver's time record when the shift is signed out, and shows on their Pay tab and on the Payroll summary as Driver pay (part of estimated gross pay); it is not paid for a shift signed out without pay or for a car with nobody left in it; a salaried driver gets it too. Changing or removing a car after the shift was worked changes that driver pay as well.
