Departments, their managers and approvals
A department is a team, like Security or Events. Being in one gives no extra access; its manager gets Manager access to it and its people. Departments are optional: skip them if you are one team.
Step 1: Your departments
Open Menu → Departments.
- Each department, with its manager and how many people are in it. Add one with +; it can sit inside another (a venue, a region, a team).

Step 2: A department’s manager, people and approvals
Tap a department.
- Choose its manager. Someone below Manager moves to a Manager role. Only the owner or an admin chooses managers.
- Add or move its people.
- Approvals: what needs an OK first, like new shifts, extra pay, overtime or timesheets before payroll. All off to start.

You’re done when…
- Each department has a manager, and everyone is in the right one.
- Approvals are on only where you want an OK first.
Good to know
- Menu → Rules → Departments work separately: on, each department sees only its own shifts and people.
- The owner and admins never need an OK. A department’s own manager cannot change its approval rules.
- A department with people in it can be archived; one nobody was ever in can be removed.
- Timesheets before payroll on a department: its manager (or the manager, then payroll) approves that department’s submitted timesheets, ahead of the company’s own setting. Submit and approve timesheets.
